Celebrate Autism Awareness Month By Embracing Authenticity & Gratitude: Join 10-Year-Old Author Muskan Virk & Aligned Education’s Micki O’Brien At Seattle Unity Friday Night, April 14th
Buffalo, NY – March 18, 2017 – What happens when you team up one of the world’s youngest inspirational authors with an inspired teacher, speaker and transformational education advocate? You get Embracing Authenticity & Gratitude, a special one-night event at Seattle Unity on Friday evening, April 14th (from 7-9PM PT), featuring the 10-year-old author of the book 365 Days of Gratitude, Muskan Virk (recently featured on Hay House Radio, as their youngest-ever guest), and CEO and Co-Founder of Aligned Education, Micki O’Brien, M.A.
In honor of Autism Awareness Month, the two have aligned to share their powerful healing messages of authenticity and gratitude with the “Emerald City,” to remind everyone of the importance of being yourself and focusing your energies on what and whom you intentionally have in your life. For when we do this, we become stronger, more loving and compassionate, and have even more to be grateful for.
“I am super excited to come to Seattle. And I am thrilled that Micki will be joining me at Seattle Unity. Our messages are rooted in love, and we are so happy to share this love with the city this April,” said Muskan.
“I am so excited and inspired to share the stage with Muskan! When I asked her how she wants people to feel when they first meet her, she said, ‘Like kindergarten, I want them to feel like they can just be themselves and play with me like kids do in kindergarten!’ I look forward to co-creating authentic, playful, gratitude-full time with Muskan, and everyone who attends!,” said Micki.
This two-hour event is designed for children, teens, and adults alike, and will include: a few simple interactive exercises, Muskan and Micki speaking both individually and together (during a Q&A session), plus an opportunity to meet Micki and Muskan at the end of the event, take pictures, and purchase your own personal copy of 365 Days of Gratitude. A portion of the proceeds from each copy of the book sold will go to Muskan’s foundation, Helping Hands, whose mission is to help homelessness in every country.
The Inspiring Journey To 365 Days Of Gratitude: Muskan came into this world as a miracle after her parents’ 16 years of marriage. At the young age of 6, Muskan learned about the injustice that Malala Yousafzai (the Pakistani activist for female education and the youngest-ever Nobel Prize laureate) had gone through, and was devastated. She was propelled to take action and wanted to make a difference. She started by raising funds to donate to the Malala Fund and other local charities. However, despite the difference she was already making, Muskan didn’t want to stop there. She asked her mother incessantly about why there was so much gender inequality in such modern times. In order to shift her thoughts on this subject to a more positive state, her mother gave her a journal and encouraged her to write one thing every day that she was grateful for.
She wanted Muskan to focus on all the positive things in her life. As time passed, her mother forgot about the journal, until Muskan came to her later with a journal filled with all of the things she was grateful for and how she had transformed her negative thoughts about gender inequality into positive thoughts on how she can use her influence to make an impact.
From those beautiful daily gratitudes, 365 Days of Gratitude was born. Along with the inspiring stories of gratitude from best-selling authors Serena Dyer (the daughter of beloved spiritual teacher and New York Times best-selling author & inspirational speaker Dr. Wayne Dyer) and Jason Garner, 365 Days of Gratitude is filled with simple gratitudes of everyday life, which inspire and uplift, and remind all of the beauty and pleasures that surrounds us and makes us feel good.
